It is easy to gain toned and firm weight by doing basic Weightlifting. Lunges with hand weights are great for building the butt and upper legs. Bench presses are great for the chest muscles. Simple arm exercises shape your arms.
Make sure you eat good, healthy food afterwards, especially protein, because you want to build the muscle, not lose it. The healthy food and calories will feed the muscles you just worked, and you'll look fabulous.
Often young people that have not had a great deal of physical exersise seem too skinny especialy to them selves. the way to overcome the problem is to either get a physicaly demanding job (not recomended) or do some body building until they are happy with the result.
