Ugh! I had the same thing happen to me. What I did was get a wide bladed flat tipped screwdriver and place it sideways into the remains of the cap that is stuck into the valve cover, there are notches in there that the top of the cap used to grip. You set the tip of the screwdriver into one of these notches and push down with some force to make the shaft of the screwdriver make solid contact with the top of the oil cap, then turn counter clockwise with the handle.
if you have difficulty with that insert a second screwdriver above the shaft of the first ( like a T ) and push against the second screwdriver.
All you are doing is giving yourself some leverage, then go get a new oil cap.
Take the cap off the radiator and open the petcock on the bottom of the radiator.
Check your gas cap.
Depending on what year Jeep you have, it may cause the check engine light to come on. It won't effect how the engine runs but it will effect the emissions.
If it just clicks and won't unscrew all you need to do is pry the top half of the cap off, and unscrew the bottom half with a pair of pliers.
Even without a cap, you still have a drain plug at the bottom of the radiator, it will unscrew, and release all your water, then you have a separate resovoir for coolant that you fill it back up with, it will say coolant on it.
The cap is on the plastic overflow bottle on the firewall.
facing engine 2000 jeep cherokee the cap at 11 o'clock is that for coolant? like pre stone? the cap at 1 o'clock is that for brake fluid? where is the cap for transmission fluid?
A Jeep Compass does not have a distributor. There is a coil on each plug.
Most likely it is a problem with the gas cap itself. Make sure it is closed properly. Most likely it is a problem with the gas cap itself. Make sure it is closed properly.
Open filler cap, add oil, replace filler cap...
from front to back the piston numbers are 123456 the firing order is 153624 the #1 on the distributer is(if you are standing on the passenger side looking at the distributer it is the bottom right.
