I developed agoraphobia suddenly as a young man of 22 years of age. The illness crippled me for two years. After much unsuccessful treatment I discovered a self-help-therapy taught by Dr Claire Weekes, a physician with a special interest in the anxiety state who spent many years involved in the treatment of agoraphobia in the United Kingdom , the United States and Australia . Her cure is based on two essentials for recovery; firstly a proper explanation of what is wrong with you and secondly, exactly what you should do to get well again.
I read Dr Weekes's book; Peace from Nervous Suffering, followed her instructions and am today, more than 30 years later, still completely cured of agoraphobia. Not only was I able to quickly rid myself of the numerous and seemingly irrational fears that plagued me and trapped me in my home, but I was soon able to travel hundreds and thousands of miles away and then to finally immigrate to Another Country on the other side of our planet.
My story and experiences were published a number of years ago in a now out of print, self help book which can now be downloaded for free from the internet at AgorapobiaCured.com. You are most welcome to read and benefit from it as you wish.
Agoraphobia is 100% curable. It is one of my life goals to share my experience and to help and encourage as many agoraphobics as possible to recover. You are welcome to contact me if I can help in any way. My email address is marius dot smook at gmail dot com.
Good luck

2 year with proper medication
Agoraphobia is a relatively common anxiety disorder, affecting around 1-2% of adults in the United States each year. It is more prevalent in women than in men, and usually manifests in early adulthood.
It is never advisable to take medication after its expiration date. The medication may no longer be effective, or you may experience side effects. If in doubt about medication, speak to your doctor or pharmacist or contact the company that produces it.

Good luck.
