After commuting for several years, I've learned the "New York Grip" which keeps the molten cheese, etc on the crust and not dribbling on your clothing or burning you.

Any proper pizza slice has a crisp crust that can support the weight of the toppings. If the crust is wobbly or soggy, nothing will work, so be prepared to have the stuff all over you.

The "Grip" is really simple:

>> Grab your slice by the outside edge in the middle of the circular arc.

>> Crack the edge of the crust in the middle and carefully, gently fold it along theradius of the wedge.

>> Eat the Pizza from the tip of the apex toward the edge of the crust.

If you hold it that way, any leakage will be toward the end where you're eating. You should be able to control that. A crisp crust is vital to your control and safety.

Reheated pizza tends to have a lot of grease soaking through the crust making it very flaccid

and wobbly ...

BE CAREFUL with reheats ...

AND, I must add: The world's finest pizza is made within a block of Penn Station in NYC (especially on the 9th

Ave side, across the street from the big Post Office.)
