You cannot sweat copper pipe if it has water in it. You must remove the water first. Even the steam from water will keep you from successfully sweating a joint without leaks.

What is meant by free running frequency in phase locked loop?

The VCO is a special type of oscillator that has a frequency controlled by an applied voltage. The frequency of the VCO without any control signal applied is called the free running frequency.

Why do you give DC excitation to AC Synchronous motor?

If the synchronous motor is running near synchronous speed, it will begin rotating at synchronous speed when DC is applied to the rotor. Source: Electrical Machines, Drives, and Power Systems Theodore Wildi Section 17.3

What does LRA mean in electrical terms?

Locked rotor amperage is the amperage the motor draws when the voltage is first applied to the motor and the rotor has not started to turn. This amperage is usually up to 300% of the motors running amperage. Once the rotor starts to turn the motor generates a back EMF (electro motive force) that opposes the high inrush current. This back EMF drives the amperage down until the motor gets up to its rated speed at which time the motor amperage will be at its run amperage.

What is the current running through a 90 volt circuit?

It depends on the resistance of everything connected between the terminals of the power supply. If the resistance is infinite or very high, there is little or no current. As the resistance becomes less, the current becomes greater. In general, the current through a circuit with 90 volts applied to it is [ 90 / R ], where 'R' is the resistance of everything across the 90-volt power supply.
