If you want to save to a text file, you need a Speech to text application.
If you want to save it as a sound file and you are using Windows, follow these steps:
- Click on Start button
- Choose Programs -> Accessories -> Entertainment -> Sound Recorder - Click on the red button on the Sound Recorder application and speak to your microphone.
- When done, save the file from the file menu.
When referring to Excel 2007, there are two file types you can use when you save a file, XML and binary. If you save the file as binary, then there is no difference between the two. If you save the file as XML, then the XML file contains XML formatting data (explanation beyond the scope of this question) and the binary file is formatted for computers to read directly.
It is possible to use the iPod microphone to create and save recordings on your computer, and doing so is actually pretty simple. All you have to do is, make and save your recording on your iPod; then, connect your iPod to your computer and just transfer the file over.
Try your "Save As" function and then where it says "type of file" look for *.jpg or *.jpeg. If it's there then your computer has the software to store the image in that format. If not, you may need to buy software, but most computers read at least jpegs.

although the details varies depending on the application used, the general thing to do is to go to File then choose "Save As", and save the files as a new name. note: you may need to expand the menu (by clicking on the arrows pointing down at the bottom of the File menu to see the Save As choice. once its saved then you can right click the file within Explorer and choose properties and uncheck the read only box then it won't be read only anymore.
You would need the password that protects the file. When you save it, use 'save as' and remove the tick from the password box

by changing the file type with an audio file converter most computers come with it already installed or you can get it from windows media player

Traditional file environment is not well suited to save data in them. They make it difficult to read the data as they are more unstructed.
