The Battery is in the trunk, on the right side.
The battery is under the floor of the trunk on the right side. You can't disconnect it under the hood.
There are two... One is under the hood RIGHT FRONT and the other is in the trunk right rear by the battery...

The boot or the trunk is under the front hood of a 1967 VW Beetle. To open the hood, make sure the handle is unlocked, turn the handle to the right and lift.

The Hood Tach was an option from 1967 through at least 1972, possibly through 74. The rear spoiler was standard on the Judge models only but could be dealer installed.
I am assuming that yours is a right hand drive unit; The hood release is lever at the front corner of the drivers side door jam, just inside the car, right above the trunk release button.
The battery's in the trunk, what's under the hood is just a fuse box and terminals to jump the car.
the battery of your cobalt is located in the trunk of the vehicle. first place i looked was the hood and to my surprise it wasn't so i looked in my owners Manuel and read that it was located in the trunk. you cant look in the hood its under the hood actually it is in the trunk in front of the spare tire
