First, gather some tools. You're going to need:
Start by scouring the window a few times with your blade. This will not only allow the cleaner to reach the adhesive better, but break up the film into manageable pieces for removal.
Saturate the window with a generous amount of your cleaner, especially at the corners. This will help to break down the adhesive holding the film to the glass. Let that set in for a few minutes before you check the corners for lifting. If you can't peel back a corner, grab your hair dryer or steamer and apply heat to help destroy the advesive. If it's a warm day, you could also lay some black plastic bags against the cleaner-soaked window, letting the sun's heat break it down.
Once you get a corner of the film to peel (use your scraper to get one started) grab it and pull it back from the glass slowly, with consistent force. Jerking it may cause it to rip and you'll have one of those situations similar to peeling a stubborn sticker. Super frustrating. As you peel, use your scraper to aid in releasing the adhesive.
If you need a visual aid, our blog post "How to Remove Window Film" has a brief video showing the scraping process.
Once you get the film completely off the window, you'll undoubtedly have quite a bit of sticky stuff left on the glass. Apply your cleaner again and scrape the adhesive off until it's clean.
Then, spray that cleaner one more time and use your towels to dry and wipe the window spotless.
Voila!
