You can remove almost anything from a window using a fine mesh steel wool as long as you use it on glass (not plexiglass or window tint) or even chrome. It will not scratch glass or chrome. This is what body shops use to get any overspray from paint off of windshields. I've even used it to get concrete off of chrome wheels, so rain repellent shouldn't put up too much of a fight. If it does, you can always use soap water with steel wool to help get it off. Just be careful to not scratch paint or leave any wool shavings on paint so you don't pick it up with a sponge next time you wash your car and end up with scratched paint.
Products that repel rain on your car windshield include; Rain X, Duragloss, and Eco-Green Rain repellent.

When the impact of the rain hits the windshield it sends a shock wave throught the windshield that is then picked up by an adhesive sensor attached to the windshield, which in turn activates the windshield wiper relay.
The windshield wiper was invented by Mary Anderson in 1903. Clever and efficient. The windshield wiper is use to remove any thing in the drivers line of sight. You can find more information on windshield whimpers on the website, wixapedia.com. Thank you for your time and be thankful for the windshield wipers that work for us, rain or shine!
It's pollen
The windshield wipers.
It's the rain sensor! Unless you replaced your windshield with another rainsensing windshield, you'll need the old rain sensor pried off the discarded windshield! It's because the washer circuit (and delayed wiper circuit) run through the rain sensing circuit! Re-connecting the rainsensor (even though it will not work for sensing rain) will complete the circuit and restore your windshield washers! (I had this exact problem and solution on my 96 ETC.)
