I am in the process of changing the head gaskets on a 93 voyager that includes taking the timing assembly apart since it has DOHC. I can tell you that yes, you should go ahead and replace the water pump while your in there because the water pump is intertwined with the timing assembly, meaning the timing belt actually spins the water pump. This job isn't as bad as it looks, just remember to mark where your distributor was at before you touched it and be sure not to turn the engine when loosening the crankshaft pulley bolts. And also, watch how the timing assembly comes apart, there is a small spring that helps retain the tensioner in place to provide tension on the timing belt. $400 for this job is a great deal, take it if its still there.
V6 RAV4 seems to have a timing chain which does not need any periodic maintenance
A broken timing chain is possible.
Depending on mileage perhaps timing chain is sloppy
I had this problem in my 92 Plymouth Voyager. You need to replace the tension pulley. They get old and become out of alignment.
here is the scoop i had my timing belt water pump all the pulleys and gaskets done for 430 dollars it seems a little high but have it done by some one who really knows this 2.5 motor or you may have big time trouble with the timing
No
where is the asd relay on a 1992 plymouth voyager
Having a piece break off your alternator bracket shouldn't have any impact on your timing chain unless the piece somehow hit it/got stuck, and that seems highly unlikely.
I have done quite a bit of research on this because there is competing advise. The Honda manual says 105,000 miles; others say any time you are over 75,000 miles. Overall, given the significant damage a broken timing belt can cause, it seems likely that an earlier timing belt change is better, perhaps when you have your regular service over 75,000 miles.
The only way I know of is to remove a valve cover. If the valves do not move when the engine is turned over, the timing chain is broken. As a best guess, if the engine cranks like crazy, and seems to crank faster or with less resistance than normal, it's a good chance. There's no telling when a chain will break, depends mostly on driving habits. My '95 made it to 199,000 before it went, whereas others will go at 60,000.
my monitor seems fine, is yours broken?
The ignition lock seems to be broken.
