There are several ways you can train you dog to stop (yelling is useless and one should never hit the dog.)
Dogs can chew because they are frustrated. For instance, if you are at work even part-time it's best to get your dog out for a good run and they'll be too tired to chew. Dogs can get lonely and if it's a large dog very restless and need to stretch those muscles. If in doubt as to how your dog feels, think of how you would feel sitting around a house all day without much exercise. Letting your dog out into the backyard is not exercise. Dogs love to smell and run through the grass or on beaches or trails.
If the dog is still persistent in chewing then shake your finger at the dog and say "Bad Dog" (dogs are intelligent creatures and understand more words than humans give them credit for) and then put him in a kennel (with blanket inside) for 20 minutes. Keep being persistent with this because the dog will get the message. If you don't have a kennel buy one from any pet groomer because they are cheaper by far there. Then disinfect it (they are usually pretty clean, but I always clean them again).
Another way to do this is if you catch the dog chewing on your furniture, shoes, etc., take a clean squirt bottle full of cold water and when you catch the dog chewing squirt him in the face twice. Keep at it. Be persistent and it will work. I just trained a 6 month old from this and I used the kennel method.
The way to stop a dog from chewing on things is to just throw an empty water bottle to the dog. It makes the dog distracted from other things the dog chews on and it is safe for big dogs.
Bitter Apple, spray it on what the dog chews most and the taste will make him stop chewing that item eventually after tasting it on enough items or depending on how bad the habit is he will stop chewing.
there is a special spray so the dog will stop chewing anything you spray the spray on..........you can get the spray at petsmart
cut them off.
Get one of those lampshade things
Try holding whatever there chewing while they chew it and try hand feeding. Have your dog eat out of your hand.
Give him enough food ofcorse
after 1 year mark sometime it depends on the dog

Get one of those bitter things that are safe for dogs as the dog will taste the bitter taste and not chew.
Take the shoes away without comment or reaction and redirect her to her chew toys. The more you do this — praise her for chewing the right things and withhold attention when she chews something she shouldn't — the more likely she is to chew on a toy and not your shoes They do tend to get bored of chewing the same thing but I beat that by get my dog the "bark box" they send a new chewable toy every month try it on this link to get a discount h t t p s :/ / yazing. com/deals/barkbox/ Eddie _ Sircolor (paste without the spaces) you'll thank me later
Keep your things in a place where the dog can not get them. This dog may need training.
If a dog is chewing itself constantly that is usually an indication that something is itching the dog and the chewing is done to try and alleviate the itching. In order to stop this you have to find out why the dog is itching, usually it is because of dry skin, or it can have a sore on its body. For dry skin it would be a good idea to buy food that is especially formulated to help dogs with dry skin, and to buy oil to put on the dog's food. But otherwise it would be a good idea to take the dog to the vet to make sure why the dog is chewing.
You could be extreme and muzzle the dog in the car. Another option is to buy a truck:)
barking licking scratching chewing things shedding
You can go to a pet store and buy the bitter apple spray and ya...
Get rid of the fleas. Flea allergies are the number one reason for visits to the vet!
i did that too, just try not to get tempted.
Measure your dog's neck. Go to a pet store and get an "Elizabethan collar" and follow the directions.
try doggy goo, it helped my dog stop chewing on his paws and it's all natural. my dog likes it because it tastes like peanut butter.
stop moving your jaws... Or you could just eat that Nicoteen chewing gum.
washing up liquid helps. they hate the smell of it ! If they dare to even try to chewing the wall then a bit of 'Fairy Liquid' teach him that walls taste disgusting.
