You gain muscle in your arms by performing exercises such as bicep curls, reverse curls, push-ups (different hand positions), etc. You must also consume protein after these workouts and allow for some rest days between training. A general weight loss program will also allow more muscle definition to be seen.

Lifting Weights is one of the many ways to work out.

It is not necessary to use accessory equipment to develop any part of your muscle system. It is sufficient to stress one muscle system against another. For example, press your palms together in front of you. Gradually allow one arm to overcome the force of the other, and then reverse the process. And, use tension as well as compression for your exercises.

From memory, about 1940, a muscular hero was Charles Atlas, a supreme swimmer of his day. I think it was he who marketed such as system titled 'Dynamic Tension'.

Sit on a flat bench holding a barbell. Hold it in a way so that the tops of your forearms are laying flat against your thighs. Curl the bar up with your wrists keeping your forearms flush with your thighs. When you have completed a a couple of sets of those, simply reverse your forearms so that the bottoms of your forearms are laying on your thighs. Curl your wrists up again in the same manner as before. You may find that you use less weight when exercising the top of your forearms.

The best way to increase forearm size is through weighted wrist flexion and extension, which can be done with dumbbells and in many other ways. A very good way to do weighted flexion/extension is with a "wrist roller." This is a handle with a weight hanging from it where you twist the handle to coil the weight up.

Light grippers used for high reps can also help to increase forearm size (as opposed to heavy grippers like Captains of Crush which cannot be done for many reps but are great for developing crushing strength).

Keep in mind that while improving the grip strength through dedicated grip training does improve the size of the forearm, this is not the most efficient and direct way to increase forearm size, if that is your goal. A mixture of flexion, extension, and grip training, of course, would be great.
