if you have no fuel pressure and suspect the relay the easist way is to switch it with another relay in you box as long as it has the same numbers. next way if your really not good with elect testing is goi to the fuel pump find the wire harness and chech for power to pump while engine is being cranked before you do andthing check fuses with a test light key on fuses have a test port to stick test light point in ccheck both side of fuse your looking for power onboth sides of fuse is fuse has power one one side pull check and replace. note somee fuse dont have power on either side dont worry about thosr they are lighting fuse that get power when liights are turned on. if you have poer to pump and no pressure your pump is probaly bad listen for a hum near fuel filler nect while someone turns key
If you turn on the ignition key without starting the engine you should hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds. If you do not check the fuel pump fuse and replace the relay before proceeding. If the fuse is good and the relay is good then you know the pump is more than likely defective.
Swap the fuel pump relay with another like relay.
Swap it with another like relay.
well if you have fuel and a new filter a good fuel pump relay and the wires going to the fuel pump have power and no fuel pressure you need a fuel pump
The fuel pump will not come on. Of course this could be a blown fuse or the pump itself has failed. Check the fuse and if it is good then install a new relay to see if that solves the problem. If not the pump is bad.
Swap it with another like relay.
Fuel pressure test. Of course if it is not running, fuse and relay are good then it is bad.
If you hear the fuel pump running, then start by replacing the fuel filter. If you don't hear the pump, check the fuse. A fuel pressure test will verify if the pump is good or not. It can also be a fuel pump relay or in rare instances a defective ECU.
van trouble please help mei have a 1996 Honda odyessy i cant get any power going to my fuel pump could it be my fuel relay switch if so can you please tell me where to find it on my van
The relay is in a block of relays on the left side of the engine compartment just back of the air cleaner. The relay cover should tell you what position the fuel pump relay is in.
Replace it with a new one.
You will have to remove the fuel pump relay or the fuse for the fuel pump. You did not say what year it was, so I can't tell you where it is. SORRY.
