Stop at Autozone and ask the counter person to hook up the code reader. It will tell you if the TPS is bad. You (as the driver) will have an idea because sometimes your idle will be high, sometimes low, making the engine seem to run rough at times. If you drive a manual tranny, the shifting engine speed (clutch depressed between gears) might not be correct.
