If you have a soft spot for someone I would say it's more serious than a crush or that you fancy them. If you have a soft spot for someone try looking out for that one person in your dreams. I don't know why I just always think that if it's real and not just a little thing it will happen in your dreams. It's said that our dreams is what our subconsciousness are trying to tell us. Or it is what lay in our subconsciousness. A crush is something that will pass. It was just someone who looked nice and may have welcomed you in a friendly way. Nothing more than a flirt.
I'd say jealousy is a good test. Are you jealous of others getting their attention? Or are you happy they are happy? If you fancy someone you will be jealous. If you have known them for a long time the latter may happen as well, but this would generally be called love. Jealousy doesn't have to be a big pain, it could be just a little twinge.
