no lights on my 2001 Tahoe radio
could be a short or a parasitic drain in the electrical system... to little info to tell what it is. could be bad earth from battery
Before I tell you where it is located I will tell you this that you will want to smack the person who put it where it is at in the car!!!! It is under your dash board. Where your brake petal is look up under the dash, it will be a little box normally black in color. And sometimes they put it behide your radio.
The cluster circuit board is failing.
take the negative terminal off and put a test light between the cable and the battery post. if the light comes on and then goes out. there is no short if it comes on and stays on then there is a short.
Check fuses. Panels are located in the engine compartment and dash. Owners manual will tell you whats what.
Your windows will fog up and it will be hard to clean them off are the passenger side floor board under the dash will be wet.
can only tell you how to prevent anymore damage, that is by using something to block any sun light from hitting dash board.
"Blowing" FusesWithout seeing and trouble shooting your vehicle no one can tell you where a short is in an electrical circuit. The key to this repair is to find/identify the short. Fuses and Circuit Breakers are safety devices designed and installed in electrical circuits TO PROTECT the conductors [wires] from short circuits and overload conditions which can cause extreme overheating which can result in damage to the conductors, and worse, the possibility of a FIRE which could destroy the vehicle. When a fuse, and replacement fuses, repeatedly blow, is an indicator of an UNSAFE CONDITION in that circuit, usually a short. Do not install a larger fuse in a misguided attempt to correct the problem. To install a larger fuse would invite damage to the wiring and an electrical system fire. The proper "fix" is for a qualified technician, who knows what he/she's doing, to troubleshoot the circuit, find and identify the defect [in this case a short], and make proper repair [s], BEFORE replacing the fuse again [with the properly sized fuse].
make your body move and function. The Brain sends electrical pulses to a certain part of the body telling the muscle to contract, then you move. Your brain cant type on a key board, but it can tell your hands to.
A label.
If "OD Off" is lit, then your overdrive is off.
Check the car's manual that came with it (if you dont have one, try searching the internet or find a dealer for the same make car). They will tell you all you need to know.
