How can you tell the difference between an age spot and skin cancer when you get a small round discoloration on the left side of the face at age 44?

When there is anything unusual like this then it's best to let your doctor diagnose this. skin cancer is highly curable if caught in time. My girlfriend's husband just had a red scaly patch taken off his hand through out-patient surgery and it was skin cancer. He's fine and there was little pain.
