What kind of fan? :)
hi,remove the wires from the thermo switch that tells the fan when to work and bridge them together, fan shoul work with ign on,if not faulty.
easiest way to check is to cover grill in front of radiator and start engine cover will restrict air flow and make engine heat up.by watching temp gauge you should have a fair idea when fan should switch on.if it doesnt switch on you know relay or swith is not working. you can then check switch with a test light to see if it has poer on both sides. pretty much test relay the same way relay will only test when hot enuff to turn on fan
Ther is usually a temp switch on your radiator that controls the fan. it is normally open when cool and closed at 220. if you want to test your fan you can pull the wires from the switch and put a wire acros the leads this powers the fan to on. if the fan powers on replace the faulty switch.
Try the fuses first then see if you have power to the fan and lights. Get a test light or multimeter.it could be the bulbs and fan. the switch. make sure you have power at the fuse box. then the switch. check the wires.check for loose grounds. Good Luck
The fans are electric. Either the fan motors have stopped working or the temperature switch that turns them on is broken. I would replace the switch and see if you can get the fans to come on. You can get a switch from RockAuto.com for about $8.00 and one fan motor for about $75.00.
turn switch off and on
You can either unplug the connectors and send a separate power and ground to the fan or you can scan the vehicles computer and see if they are working but if they are original, then after 9 years you should replace them anyway........
Apply 12V directly to the motor and see if it works Turn ignition switch and A/C on and check to see if you are getting power to the fan motor- if so motor is bad - if not could be a bad fuse or relay or sensor switch
CAUTION!!! This may be a problem with the alternator and the charging. Blower fan will stop working if alternator is not charging. You may also see the battery light and brake light staying on as well! Advance Auto Parts or Auto-zone can test your alternator/battery.
You've got to use a test light to see if there is electricity getting to the switch. First check to see if it's getting past the fuse - then to the switch with the switch off - then through the switch with the switch on - finally to the blower motor.
Make sure it is not the temperature sensor, somtimes when they fail it wil never turn on the fan. If you can test the fan to make sure it actually works. You can usally test the fan motor to see if it work by turning the ac on, which wil automatically turn the fans on by default.
