Make sure the dog is calmed down, a fidgety dog can prove hard to deal with. If a cut is only minor, make sure someone is holding the dog still and keeping it calm, whilst another person gently with a wet cloth cleans the cut. It will heal by itself, but care must be taken to make sure the dog doesn't scratch the cut.
