The new Polo (2011) does not have "Daytime driving lights". It is fitted with "Permanent driving lights". The lights on cars with Daytime running lights can be switched off by using one of the stalks on the steering wheel, or by removing a fuse (daytime driving lights are on a seperate light circuit)
Permanent driving lights cannot be switched off. If hte fuse is removed it will disable your headlights and backlights altogether. The only way to disable it is to remove the rotary light switch and cover the pin marked "TFL"
how so you turn on the daytime running lights on a 99 suburban
Try pressing the emergency brake pedal one click to turn off Daytime running lights - Works in my 97
Turn headlight switch to the left to turn off daytime runnig lights. Turn switch back to left to turn back on.
could be two things bad earth behind the dash or on the lights. Or if you control your lights on a stem coming off the steering column that could be faulty? it is indicating your daytime driving lights are on
push in the e brake pedal 1 click
You don't they have daytime running lights (they are on when the car is on).
turn the car off and apply the parking brake, when you turn the car back on, or to the accessory position, the daytime lights will not come on until you lower the brake lever
The lights are automatic for your daytime running lights AND your regular head lights. There is a light sensor on your dash that knows when it get dark. When it's dark your headlights will automatically come on, daytime lights turn off and your dashboard lights will dim as a result, since you no longer need them to be that bright when it's dark. As far as the parking brake, it triggers your daytime lights to turn off, so when you disengage your parking brake, they will turn on for normal driving. All of this is a good thing because you never have to worry about turning your on/off...ever.
Just remove the DRL fuse in the fuse box, If your wanting to turn lights off while driving.
No. Daytime running light can be disabled without affecting turn signals.
If the Explorer is running engaging the parking brake is supposed to turn the daytime running lights off , otherwise the daytime running lights are supposed to shut off when the engine is shut off . I have a 2004, Eddie Bauer Explorer. On the light switch itself, there is a selection to turn on or off the day lights, as well as the extended, courtesy lights after ignition is turned off.
Start the van and see if the lights turn on automatically.
