I use somthing called indian cement which is a way to keep the seal in place and makes less mess.

If the AC Pump doesn't work, you can unplug the pump, via the only wire going into the top. No you cannot put the alternator in it's place, but you can use a different belt specific to your vehicle, that allows you to bypass the pump altogether. Just buy a new belt and ask for the (without A/C) when they ask if you have it or not. Other than that there is no kit that I am aware of.
