I recently had to have a copy of mine for a job application. I went to the county seat in Texas where I was born and was able to get a copy from their records. All births in the US have to be recorded that way. If you doubt the validity of one you have, ask for a certified copy as I did.

∙ 13y agoGo to the place that issued it, and share with them whatever your concern is. They'll know. Failing that, or if you are unsure of their ability to tell, there is a profession called, "Forensic Document Examiner". Find on of them, and ask them.
They're a pretty highly specialized field, though, so your best bet (to save money) is just going to the place that issued it.
