If it has a properly fitted fan shroud, it doesn't matter how close the fan blades are to the radiator. If there is no fan shroud the fan blades will have to be within a couple of inches of the radiator.
open your hood, locate the radiator, its on the left hand side at the bottom of the radiator, its pupose is to close the circuit when the coolant get above normal and turn on the cooling fans.
Wattles and combs on a bird are used for both cooling and for attracting a mate. The cooling results from the bare skin and blood close to the surface being cooled by air movement similar to a radiator in a car.
A "closed loop" system refers to a system that requires no outside intervention. Like the cooling system on a car or in simpler terms the radiator. The cooling system is a closed loop, the coolant is heated by the engine, pumped into the radiator where it cools off, then is cycled through the engine again.
inlet air temp should be between the throtle and air filter box on the air intake hose coolant temp should be close to were the upper radiator hose connects to engine there maybe 2 coolant sensors one for computer one for radiator cooling .
The radiator drain plug should be close to the bottom of the radiator facing the engine. It could be a wing nut, or could be the type that is turned by a ratchet and extension.
The cooling fan relay for a 1999 Contour should be in the fuse box under the hood. It is close to the battery, and the lid should show the location of the relay.
1. Place a drain pan of sufficient capacity under the radiator and open the petcock (drain) on the radiator. è Plastic petcocks easily bind. Before opening a plastic radiator petcock, spray it with some penetrating lubricant. 2. Drain the cooling system completely. 3. Close the petcock. 4. Remove the drain pan.
drain it fill it from the thermostat when full close up thermostat then fill top radiator hose and you put that back on if done correct your coolent will sit in the resivor at cold hieght and you should be good to go
close system
The engine computer uses the coolant temperature sensor that is located close to where the upper radiator hose attaches to the engine to decide when to actuate the fan.The engine computer uses the coolant temperature sensor that is located close to where the upper radiator hose attaches to the engine to decide when to actuate the fan.
It means that the engine is running HOT for some reason. Check cooling system real close. Thermostat, Fan clutch, radiator, Coolant leak, Fluid level
should be close to your thermastate. Follow upper hose from radiator to your engine. Should take you right to it.
