Jehovah's Witnesses do not observe a rite called "communion". Once per year we celebrate the death of Christ that is called the "Memorial of Jesus' death", as Jesus instructed @ Luke 22:19 "Do this as a memorial of me". Jesus was there instituting the celebration with his 11 Apostles who rule with him in heaven. At the "memorial" we also observe the part of the "Memorial" where Jesus passed the "bread & wine". Are there any partakers? Yes. The scripture at Romans 8:14-17 in part says: "The spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are God's children", and...."heirs indeed of God". So only those whom the "spirit has borne witness" partake of the "bread & wine" emblems. It is a matter between them and Jehovah that they have the "heavenly calling" and therefore are of the "heavenly class" that Revelation 14:1-3 speaks of. Those who do not partake (the majority) have the hope of living forever on the earth after it is restored to paradise conditions described in Psalms 37:10 &11, also Revelation 21:3,4.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not partake in traditional Christian communion because they believe it is only meant for a limited number of individuals who are chosen by God to go to heaven. They see partaking in communion as a symbol of being part of the heavenly class, and only a small fraction of their membership is considered part of this group. Other Jehovah's Witnesses attend the communion service, but they do so as observers rather than participants.
