fuel leak is very possible

were you parked over leaves?
the cat gets very hot.
Check your alternator (it charges the battery) If it quits you are running straight off the battery and that won't last long. Also check your belts. If they are loose and slipping your battery won't get carged and your alternator won't work properly
If you can get your vehicle started you can then un hook the battery while it is running and if your vehicle stays running then your alternator is good. If it stalls and dies as soon as you unhook the battery then the alternator is not good.If you can get your vehicle started you can then un hook the battery while it is running and if your vehicle stays running then your alternator is good. When using battery cables to start a car, once it has started is there a procedure when removing the cables from the running car?
No. The power to illuminate the Daytime Running Lights (DRL's) is supplied by the alternator, and does not have to be supplied by the battery. Once a vehicle is started and the engine is running you could remove the battery from the car entirely and everything requiring current would still operate.
A PLUGGED CAT. CONVERTER
Defective alternator or broken alternator belt.
If the battery light is displayed when the engine is running, you may have a problem with your charging system. The battery display will stay on while the key is in RUN until the engine is started. If the message stays on after the engine is started, it could indicate a problem with the generator drive belt, or some other charging system problem. Driving with this message could drain your battery. If you have to drive a short distance, turn off all accessories such as heater, air, radio, etc. and get it checked right away.
If you leave the Ingition Switch on without the engine running. The battery will go dead. Then you will have to get a boost or charge the battery to get the engine started.
Yes, once you have jump started the car (from another car's battery), driving the car will recharge the dead battery (provided the battery is OK). This is a terrible idea and may damage the alternator. Drive the car immediately home and charge the battery with a battery charger. Alternators are designed to keep a charged battery fully charged. They are not designed to charge a dead battery. This puts way too much strain on the alternator circuits.
my 1992 dodge dakota wont stay running it stalls when driving and takes a few minutes to get started but if i wait it will start
I had the same thing happen. The battery cable came off the battery in my case, loose connection.
The battery should start getting a charge from the stater. So you have power to run the lights and keep the bike running. Also so to keep restarting the bike.
