By improved, if you were attempting from the side of the Nazis to improve the effectiveness of the Holocaust there are several ways that it might have been made more efficient.
1. If the aim wee to exterminate more Jews then a more efficient and time effective way to kill them should have been devised. Perhaps simply rounding them all together into the slums they were trapped in and then bombing it.
2. The cost of the enterprise could have been improved by not transporting all the prisoners to Poland, concentration camps could have been established further west, reducing travel times and saving resources which might have been better used in the German war effort.
I respect that this answer may be unwanted, but this is how (from a NAZI standpoint) the holocaust may have been improved.
