If it becomes a "systemic" infection the baby could be in danger. If it's just a local infection the baby won't be affected. Unfortunately, there is no way to know how it will turn out. You had better have it taken care of. If the infection is due to gum disease, it increases the likelihood of the baby being born prematurely and with a lower birth weight.
