most sources and studies show that it grows from about 15-30 inches in length. the thorns are 1-5 inches in length. :)

Hawthorne comes in many varieties and averages between 15-25 ft high with a 10-15 ft spread. It was used in thick hedgerows in the middle ages as a way to keep poachers and visigoths out.

I do not have an exact answer, but I am assuming they are deep. I live in arid southern California we have a huge yew in our front yard we have been battling for a decade, it does not need water once established
