The enslavement of Abraham's descendants took place around 1250 BC and ended when God sent Moses to "rescue" the slaves. The pharaoh said no and God punished Egypt with ten plagues. After weeping over his dead son the pharaoh let the slaves go but soon changed his mind and sent the Egyptian army after them.
