Amelia Earhart had a very, very, very lite English accentShe came from Kansas - and had an English accent ?
Amelia Earhart was special because she was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic alone. R.I.P.
Amelia Earhart accomplished many things in her short life time. Before she even got her pilot's license she set the record for highest altitude for a woman at 14,000 feet. She was the first woman to fly solo across the United States and back. Her flight across the Atlantic notes that she was a passenger, but it is highly doubted she was a passenger the entire way.
United States of America
Amelia Earhart's best friend was Eleanor Roosevelt, a former first lady of the United States of America.
Amelia Earhart was BORN in l897. No aircraft other than balloons existed at the time. The idea of a youth ambition just does not fly, so to speak-the earliest powered Blimp flight was around l902- ( a female one in l903 over Paris) the Wright Bros. pattern of l903 came in December l7 of that year. There were only a handful of aircraft in the United States when Amelia was say, ten years old- This is not like Mark Twain and his longing for the wheelhouse of a Mississippi Packet.
World War 2 was two years from starting when she disappeared in 37. FDR was president, the depression had happened, she was only the 16 woman to have a pilots license. When she disappeared the United States spent 4 million looking for her.
