Those lands are the lands that now occupy modern Iraq, most of Syria and the northern part of Arabia. The First great civilization was the Sumerian then the Assyrians. For more than 1000 years, people turned into warriors and then came the Hammurabi code which was the first known coded set of rules in history. These battling groups of people united surrounding neighbors' who became the empires of our history beginning with the Babylonian empire followed by the Persian, the Greek and the Roman Empire.
