The English government placed a series of new taxes on the American colonists.
Through taxtion
They passed the Stamp Act to raise money.
The French and Indian war put the British in a huge debt. This huge debt eventually led the British to tax the American colonies with a series of acts which the colonists saw as a violation of their liberty. As the British passed more acts, the colonists felt the need to declare independence.
The British payed little attention to the colonies and how they were doing until they started growing and becoming a major source for trade and wealth. Not until 1763 did the era end when Britain was in huge debt from the French and Indian War.
The actual cost to provide the colonists with protection, infrastructure, and stability was much larger than what they were actually being taxed, and even Englishmen were paying more. They also gathered a huge debt from the French and Indian war and Pontiac's Rebellion (which caused the Proclamation of 1763, because the cost of protection from Indians was too great for British Mercantilistic ideals).

The reason the British Government raised revenue for the colonies was because they spent a lot of money during the French and Indian War. So the British thought that it would be okay to tax them becausr they were part of the War
The reason the British taxed the Colonists after the French and Indian War was they were in debt from the war because they spent so much money on it.They had went into debt after the war because they ued all there money for it(most). They had to get the money and they believed they should tax the colonists because they were the ones who were protecting them(the colonies). I think the first tax was the Stamp Act. Then the quartering act that forced the colonists to feed and house the troops........

France was a Nation with a huge National debt.

Parliment raised taxes after the war because they had a huge war debt they had to pay off. Therefore the riased taxes had an increase in tax revenue.

Many colonists fought in the french and Indian war because they wanted to be involved in what was going to be affected in their country. I'm not sure if that's right, but that's probably why.
They wanted to recover the huge expenses Great Britain had sustained during the French and Indian Wars, to defend the Colonies.
The goal of this act was to raise revenue to help defray military costs of protecting American colonies at a time Great Britain's economy was saddled with huge national debt accumulated during the French and Indian War.
