1 Samuel 17:7 says that Goliath carried a spear that was like a weaver's beam, when he was killed by David. This description was the same as the spear that Goliath was carrying when Elhanan killed him, in 2 Samuel 21:19 (The Hebrew Bible in English, JPS 1917 Edition), although the King James Version renders this as the brother of Goliath, with "the brother of " in italics to show that it was not a true translation.
David hurls the stone in his sling and brings the enemy champion down. Then with Goliath's own sword David decapitates him, and he returns to camp with the trophies of war, the giant's head and sword. (1Samuel 17:45-54)
Goliath was using his sword as a weapon. David killed him with the stone and slingshot. When Goliath collapsed David went over to his body and picked up the sword and beheaded Goliath. Goliath was dead so he wasn't holding on to his sword.
He had a sword. But David had five smooth stones. And after Goliath was slain, David took the sword and beheaded Goliath.
There is absolutely no source literature, not from the Early Church Fathers or any other source, which states that Goliath's head was buried at Golgotha. And David took the head of the Philistine, and brought it to Jerusalem; but he put his armour in his tent. 1.Sam 17,54 According to this scripture, the head of Goliath was brought to Jerusalem. What happened to the head after this is never mentioned.
Your answer, to show it to Saul, would be incorrect. At that time Saul was with the army where the battle took place, at the Valley of Elah. He would have seen David slaying Goliath. [1 Samuel 17] Jerusalem at the time was still a Jebusite city, not a city of Israel. Jerusalem was not taken until after Saul had died and after David had been made King of Israel [in 2 Samuel 2]. [Jerusalem was not captured until 2 Samuel 5.]
Goliath was physically huge , had huge weapons, and had always been trained for battle. David was not physically a big man, and was unable to wear armor or carry a standard sword (which were cumbersome to him).
Titanic was carrying neither arms nor munitions but many people say that Lusitania was tempting fate by transporting ordinance on a civilian vessel.
This question misses the point of the narrative. David's ability to hit Goliath was not dependent on David having good aim or precision. The narrative makes clear that God is the reason for his success. However, from a political standpoint, the confrontation between David and Goliath was a "hero battle". In the ancient period, it was believed that God or the gods decided the outcome of a massive battle, so instead of wasting all of the men and weapons on launching such a massive campaign, they would have two heroes fight for power. If the Philistines had won the "hero battle", they would likely have gained critical lands along the western ridge of the Judean Highlands, such as the area around Beersheba today.
