They invaded Poland on 9-1-39 by attacking the nation and taking over. The Brits and the French then declared war on the Nazi Germans.
On September 2nd, 1939 Germany invaded Poland. Having been warned previously by Great Brittan & France that to do so would constitute a state of war, Hitler pursued the takeover of Poland. War was declared on September 4th, 1939.
Germany invaded Poland on 1 September so Britain and France declared war on Germany on 3 September!!
