Geronimo was a Native American Tribe leader, and the US Army tried to move his tribe to a reservation but Geronimo and his tribe went to Mexico. In Mexico, reporters exaggerated his activities and blamed him for alot of stuff. He tried to fight the US and refused however they forced his to go to the reservation. Once there the US gave them some tools to farm and have a life. They gave his a extremly small plow and after a few days he left because of the awful conditions. He got into trouble and was forced to NY to die, however the US army gave his a choice to die or surrender, he surrendered and went to NY with his family, jailed.

Geronimo is actually a Spanish name.

Goyahkla (Geronimo's original name) and his people had arrived in the town to trade, the women and children were left in a wash(Safe place) to wait for them while they did their business. A mob from another area arrived and murdered most of them. When Goyahkla came out of town to where they were and saw what had happened, he and his people retreated out of Mexico. He was so grief strucken that he wanted to die, which was against his people's beliefs. He returned to Mexico and killed every man in sight wanting to die a warrior's death.

A young Spanish officer had arrived from Spain into one of the area's Goyahkla was killing in. The officer witnessed Goyahkla, and said that he reminded him of a character named Geronimo from a popular play in Spain. The character's wife and kids had been murdered and he went out for vengeance hoping to die, but was extremely brave.

That is straight from Geronimo's 100 year old nephew. Every thing else is either a right out lie or somehow divergent from this.

For me them days were so hard for the Indians there land was being taken, pony riders were killing them. (there own people) On orders of the white Government. Geronimo's wife and child were killed. He wanted to be free and help his people to regain there land, but because his people were going to die if he don't surrender, he did.

For me that is a great leader he thought of others before himself
