Japan was virtually impossible to invade by land because it was a heavily defended island country. The only way to invade it would be a massive sea, air, and land attack. The United States predicted that they would loose 2 million men in an invasion of Japan. They decided bombing it into submission would be a better idea.

Will stored codes affect how your car runs?

The stored code (pending code) does not affect the cars operation but if there is a problem with the vehicle then it is sure that it will affect the car's performance. The ECM stores the fault codes that it is programmed to do so even if it happened once during the operation. there is definitely a problem on the vehicle if the check engine light is on continuously or intermittently during the operation
