Julia Margaret Cameron was a British photographer known for her portraits. She lived a comfortable lifestyle as the wife of a colonial administrator in Ceylon (Sri Lanka) and later in England. She was part of the Victorian elite social circle and her home became a hub for intellectuals and artists. Cameron was passionate about photography and dedicated herself to the art, despite starting at a later age.
