Axel's name was Lea before becoming a nobody. This is confirmed when Saix refers to him as Lea during a cutscene in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. More information on Lea will be available with the release of Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep.

Well technically, Axel is real in the world of Kingdom Hearts. But not in real life on earth. Axel is the nobody of Lea, who is introduced in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. Axel is real, but isn't really considered real until he gets a heart. Lea is real, but im guessing it could be both yes and no to the answer of this question.

Doubt it. Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep (same as KH3) takes place nine years before the beginning of KH1. Axel probably was not even existant then, although his Somebody, Lea, probably was, but Lea has no resemblance to the game except that he is Axel's true self. So the answer is NO. Probably. I am 99% sure he is NOT in it, but don't get mad at me if he is, which is quite unlikely. Actaly(SPOILER) Yes he will but not as axel his name will be lea

Yes, as seen in numerous cutscenes where Saix refers to Axel as "Lea". We then see a young Axel-lookalike in Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep, confirming Axel's previous indentification.

I'm not sure, I can't find a picture of her. But, if it helps...Axel from Kingdom Hearts, his somebody is Lea. But, his look was based on a different character. But, she has red hair and uses the same weapons..

In Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep how does Lea die?
I don't think he does die--as far as I know--because Lea is turned into a Heartless and the Nobody known as Axel, which appears in Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories (both Re: Chain of Memories and the original) and Kingdom Hearts 2. He joins Isa (soon to be Saix, only the "I" in his Nobody name has 2 dots on top) walking through Radiant Garden in Birth By Sleep, which should have been obvious from gameplay, and meet Ventus, who defeats Lea in a little brawl and they become friends. Anyway, they join the team of apprentices of Ansem the Wise and become Nobodies, which Sora fights in the original KH story with Sora and such. I hope that helps!
