He didn't. Under his bloody rule tens of millions of Chinese were killed. All vestiges of freedom were snuffed out. Chinese culture was so warped it almost ceased to exist. The Chinese economy was set back decades from where it had been.

Mao Zedong did nothing except killing innocent people which include factory owners, successful businessman, landlords and army officers, also he's a playboy.

He also lie to people about how the west is evil and poor, he won't let people go to west, if they did, they will accused of counter revolutionaries and sentenced to death.

He won't let people accept the western stuff like curvy hair, and he make the Ballet dancers holding a gun which is unacceptable because ballet need softness, not violence.

He won't give freedom to people, if somebody says 'Mao Zedong is bad!', that person will sentenced to death, as for song writers, he only want people to write Mao Zedong is the best kind of song; if somebody write bad things about Mao Zedong he will send to hell.

He also won't let people do business and earn money. And he claim that people with no money is the best and he accused rich people are class enemy. He won't let the citizen receive good education.
