Marco Polo's book about his 20 year stay in China fascinates many explorers like Christopher Columbus. Since Marco Polo traveled by land, his trip was long and dangerous so explorers tried to search for an all water route to the East. Instead of landing in the "indies" (India and East Asia) explorers like Christopher Columbus landed in the New World. Since he though he landed in China he called the Native Americans there "Indians" and he traded with them then sailed back to Europe. No one knew what he had discovered until he died. Christopher Columbus had found the New World and many explorers made expeditions and started to make colonies there. This changed many people's lives and how they lived. And that is how Marco Polo changed the world.
The impact that Marco polo had on the world was that when he came back from China he created the SILK ROAD. He also brought back spices picked up along the way back. He also introduced silk and gunpowder to the Chinese the women were so fascinated with it but the gunpowder was used for fireworks .
