Martin Luther king helped shape history by giving people equal rights. He did this by, giving the most famous speech ever, "I have a dream" speech. Also, he led a very famous boycott and led the freedom walk. He was there when people were sad. He was a VIP. Would you and your friend be friends if he weren't there? Think about it.

Martin Luther King has helped us all to be more aware of racism and and has electrified the nations with his speeches. Although Martin has made atremendous difference, his dream is not completely fulfilled There is still racism today. Most have come to know that legally, whites and blacks are to be treated equally, we must work together to learn that whites and blacks are to be created equally in our hearts too. :)hope this helped!:p

Martin Luther King Jr. made it OK for the African American (the blacks) to live in America without a struggle like the white. He made it OK for them to sit in the front of a bus and he made it OK for the black and the white to go to the same school.

Martin Luther King Jr is important to American History because he led the Civil Rights Movement which fought to gain equal rights for African Americans during a time when they faced various forms of racial discrimination. With the help of the thousands of supporters the movement succeeded when the Civil Rights act was signed by president Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964.

Martin Luther King, Jr.'s contribution was to bring to the attention of all Americans the injustices faced by black Americans. Reverend King was the face of the movement for equitable treatment of black Americans, both in the law and in society. Many organizations had been working for many years toward this goal, and by the middle of the 1950s, the time had come to take action. Reverend King was in the right place at the right time with the skills to lead the movement. He devoted the rest of his life, and finally gave his life to the ideal of fair treatment for all Americans.

Martin Luther King peacefully led the civil rights movement. There may still be segregation today if it weren't for the efforts of Martin Luther King and his fellow civil rights leaders.
