The geography of Mesopotamia helped civilization develop by having rich soil for abundant crops due to annual floods.
It's a desert area surrounded by two rivers. The Moespotamians invented the firstirrigation system so their farms didn't have to depend on rain. Because of their location, they don't have a season where it is too cold to grow crops, so they grew crops 365 days of the years. They had a large surplus of grain, produce and farm animals with which they could trade. The irrigation systems also meant that their farms didn't need as many people to tend them and the Mesopotamians had time to devote themselves to other products to manufacture and trade. What they manufactured and how their society developed you'll have to research. It's would take to much space to explain here. But if you read a history of Mesopotamia, you will be taken through the agricultural age, the bronze age and the iron age. All civilizations followed the same development stages, learning agriculture and making hunting and gathering obsolete, they they learned other crafts during the bronze age and iron age. The bronze age and the iron age had a lot more developments associated with them.
the Nile River helped by giving them both fertile soil and a source of water while everywhere else in Egypt there was desert.
The river flooded which made the soil fertile & good for farming. It also provided people with fish, drinking water, clay for buildings, & strong reeds to make boats out of.... Mesopotamia means "land between 2 rivers". It was between the Tigris & Euphratis.

Geometry contributed in building the drainage system for for all the civilizations......notice that they never overflew and they had a sloping 'floor' so that water may be directed to the outskirts of the civilization. The houses were built on the basis of geometry. They were in the shape of cuboids or cubes. They had specifically designed 'holes' in the walls so as to allow sunlight into the rooms/house. Mainly, the whole city's layout was geometrically shaped and planned. For more details read your history books.
The Roman and Greek civilizations left us a rich cultural heritage that influenced art, architecture, literature, philosophy, and government. We can still see their impact in the form of ancient ruins, such as the Colosseum in Rome and the Acropolis in Athens. The Roman legal system continues to shape modern legal systems around the world, and Greek philosophy and literature continue to be studied and appreciated.
Size and shape have not had much impact on England's development, however location had a huge impact on England's development. England became a mecca of trade, culture, wealth and exploration. All of these factors resulted from the fact that England is an island with access to continental Europe.
