Patrick Henry died before the revolution was really under way, but IF he had been alive he wouldn't have thought about slavery much I don't think. Slavery was not an issue for the time. Everyone owned slaves from Washington to Jefferson. They really didn't see anything wrong with it. When they wrote "all men are created equal" they meant all white men are created equal. There was no concern about slaves or women, both were the underclass. In fact, when the government was finally set up the population of the colonies couldn't vote for President because the founding fathers didn't feel that they could.
Good question,as it is today, declaring revolution on a country would be considered an act of high treason. The general majority of settlers were afraid that England would come and retake the colonies, sending anyone involved in any way to the revolution to the gallowsto make it simple FEARFUL
