Lucy's mother tried to arrange a married for Lucy with the pagan. Lucy rejected her groom and he did not see the same light as her and he betrayed her to the governor as a Christian. The governor tried to send her to prostitution but the guards that came to get her found her to be as heavy as a mountain. They finally just decided to kill Lucy and they did. Lucy lived in Syracuse, Italy, all her life, here she lost her life to persecution in the fourth century. She died in the year 304. Lucy may not have been burned or had a sword cut her throat but many Christians did.
