Answer 1

Saudi Arabia has never been colonized, so the Independence Day is actually the day when the kingdom was created, which celebrated in 23 of September.

Answer 2

Like most Ottoman Territories, independence for the Saudis was more of a de facto occurrence than a de juredeclaration and resulting war. What this means is that the Ottoman Empire would originally delegate power to a local governor to manage the territory. A few hundred years later, the governor would have so much local power, that it would not take Ottoman commands that seriously, establishing autonomy. Soon the only Ottoman contact that that they would have would the tax/tribute that they would send to Istanbul. Finally, they would stop sending the money, which made these governors completely independent of the Ottomans. With its army tied up in European Wars, the Ottoman Empire was unable to force these governors to recognize Ottoman sovereignty, which resulted in proper independence. The full Ottoman retreat came in World War I.

From the Saudi Independence from the Ottomans, they eventually conquered their neighbor of Hejaz and created the modern Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia became a state in 1933 by Abdulaziz Al Saud. In the 7th century, the area became the religious epicenter of Islam. Today, its cities of Mecca and Medina are still of high spiritual value in the Islamic faith. The nation is also known for its vast oil supplies.
