Warships and ground troops remained relatively the same; most of which was of WW2 vintage (Sherman and modified M-26 Pershing tanks which became M-46 Patton tanks, M-1 Garand Rifles, Thompson Submachinguns, BARs-Browning Automatic Rifles, etc.). The biggest impact on the US was in US Air Force and US Navy Aircraft. All of the lessons learned from the Korean War in Jet Warfare was studied and advanced for the Cold War of the 1950's & 1960's and ultimately used in Combat in the Vietnam War. Whereas the US Air Force & US Navy used primarily F-86 Sabre jets, F-80 Shooting Stars, and Panther jets, etc. For fighting in Korea, the coming Vietnam War would host nearly triple the variety of USAF & USN Air Power: F-100 Supersabres, F-101 Voodoos, F-102 Delta Daggers (President Bush Junior's Jet), F-104 Starfighters, F-105 Thunderchiefs, A-1 Skyraiders (film: Rescue Dawn), A-4 Skyhawk (Presidential Candidate John McCain's Jet), A-6 Intruder (Film: Flight of the Intruder), A-7 Corsair II, F-8 Crusader (History Channels Dog Fight series: "The Last Gunfighter"), F-4 Phantoms (the last United States "ACES" of the 20th Century), B-52 Stratofortress Bombers (the Korean War used WW2 B-29 Superfortress bombers), SR-71 Blackbird Spyplanes, U-2 Spyplanes, C-130 Spectre Gunships, C-47 Puff the Magic Dragon Gunships, etc. This evolution in US Air Power was probably natural. The Korean War was the FIRST WAR FOUGHT BY THE UNITED STATES AIR FORCE!
