Yellowfang killed Brokenstar by giving him deathberries (nightshade) in his fresh-kill. The poison quickly took effect, causing Brokenstar to die a painful death.

Then, as a prisoner, Tigerclaws rouges attack Thunderclan with Brokentail attacking too. Then, after the battle, Yellowfang kills Brokentail, feeding him deathberries because he was to dangerous to have around anymore.

In The Fourth Apprentice, it is suspected that he is an ally of Tigerstar and Hawkfrost because Breezepelt is fighting alongside a "brown tom with a twisted tail." It hasn't been confirmed as of the day I'm typing this, but is is most likely him because Jayfeather doesn't know who he is and he is one of the only brown and evil tom.
