It allowed people to move from one place to another allot quicker. The automobile put people on wheels and that changed everything. No longer was a 20 mile trip and all day affair. It also allowed the delivery of goods from one place to another. It opened up parts of the country that could only be reached by horse in the past. The automobile brought people closer together.
