The Holocaust changed our world today because it showed us a very frightening side to Dictatorship and what happens when there are no checks and balances to keep one person from holding too much power. It affected Germany the most causing it to split into east and west when the Berlin Wall was erected. Germany had also loss many rights including their military. This also led to alliances forming that still hold strong today.

The atrocities of the concentration camp shocked the world. They showed the world that people can be evil, brutal, cruel and atrocious. When the world learned six million Jews were killed people realized World War 2 needed to be fought to stop Hitler and the genocide he called "The Final Solution". Society realizes now you cannot tolerate radical groups, such as the White Supremicist group, and you must take steps to stop them legally. "Group Think" became a sociological term which explained how a group of people can all start thinking and believing a certain way based on the persuasion of a charmer or other type of fanatical person. The Geneva Convention updated their rules and values after World War 2.

The name "Concentration Camp" is now synonymous with the what were the death camps of Nazi Germany in which millions of people were killed in a terrible genocide.

Today these camps are preserved as museums, a reminder of what happened in the past and a warning to future generations as to what evil humans are capable of doing.
