According to the Tanakh and The Bible, God spoke to Moses on a number of occasions and in different places.

One of the most famous places was on Mount Sinai, on the Sinai Peninsula. Some places * Mount Horeb, (burning bush, Exodus 3:1-15; 4:1-17) * Egypt (commissions from God and given miraculous abilities, Ex 4:20,21 etc) * banks if Nile river (plagues on Egypt, Ex 7:19 etc) * Red Sea (the exodus, Ex 14, Ex 15:22) * various places in the wilderness of the Sinai Peninsula (e.g. Ex 17)

* Mount Sinai (ten commandment and other laws: Ex 19 etc)

God, through his angel, spoke to Moses first on the mountain of God, Horeb, (Exodus 3.1&4). And subsequently God spoke to Moses and gave him the law on this mountain, where it was called Mt Sinai.

The most famous circumstances I know about are when God spoke to Moses through the burning bush, and when God talked to Moses up the mountain, when he was given the stone with the 10 commandments written on it. Quite a few times, God spoke with Moses, but Moses did not record how. One time, Moses had been allowed to view God, but not his face for the living were not to see God's face until he end.

Once, when Moses was in hiding from a burning bush, and a few times from the top of a mountain. Once, Moses was even so lucky as to be allowed to see God's back. (Not his face because the living were not to see it.)
